FAQ

A desktop app that gives you an infinite canvas for your notes, research and references, with an AI agent that reads what is on the canvas and acts on it. Instead of a scrolling document, your material sits in front of you at once — cards, images, links, tables and sketches, connected to each other so that over time the connections, not the folders, are how you find things again. Because the agent can read that canvas, you never re-explain your material: you point at a card and ask, and it answers by proposing edits you review and then apply or undo as a single batch.

A chatbot starts from an empty box every time, so you have to describe your context before you can ask anything. Lino AI Canvas starts from the canvas you have already built. You can say "connect this line to that reference" or "based on these notes, what am I missing?" and the agent already knows what "this" and "these" point at.

Those are surfaces you arrange things on. Lino AI Canvas is a surface an agent can work on with you: it reads the canvas as structured context, edits cards, draws connections and builds interactive mini-apps in place. Connections here are typed and reusable rather than decorative, and the same card can live on several canvases at once — edit it in one place and it updates everywhere.

Interactive mini-apps that Lino AI Canvas generates from your notes and runs on the canvas — a physics simulator, a drum kit, a slide deck, a small custom tool. They are built from the material already in front of you, so knowledge does not only get recorded; it can run. Sparks are available on Pro and above.

Yes. Lino AI Canvas syncs bi-directionally with local Markdown files, which covers Obsidian vaults, Logseq folders and Bear exports — edit in your own editor and the canvas follows, and the other way round. Web pages, images and documents can be dropped straight onto a canvas.

macOS and Windows today, as a desktop app. One account syncs your canvases between them.

On your own machine first — Lino writes to a local file and keeps working with the network off. Signing in adds sync, which copies your canvases through our servers so your devices agree.
